IWA National Festival '08

At Autherley Junction on the Shropshire Union Canal

The National Waterways Festival is a great day out for all the family. There will, of
course, be brand new boats and everything to go in them but there will also be arts
and crafts, clothing, jewellery, speciality foods, novelty stands, as well as home and
garden products on sale. With over 40 Real Ales in the Bar, fantastic food choices,
live music and dancing and great activities for children, including our unique Wild
Over Waterways activity passport as well as Circus Skills and a Victorian Funfair –
there really is something for every member of the family. The Festival is also unique because it is totally run by volunteers. All the surplus money that is raised goes towards waterway restoration projects so as well as being a great day out –visitors are also helping to support their local waterway network.
