Dovecotes Arts Centre can proudly annouce we have been nominated, and successfully made it through to the final 3 in the West Midlands region, for the annual Talktalk 'Digital Heroes' award. We have been recognised for the work we do with young people and digital technology, such as music and film. The competition has now gone to a public vote, with the winners being granted £5,000 towards their organisation and the opportunity to compete for the national prize. This summer a group of young people from Wolverhampton took part in a week-long music video workshop at Dovecotes Arts Centre run by MC Akala and Ben Peters from The Hip-Hop Shakespeare Company. The group worked on planning, filming and editing the video to a track written by Dovecotes Arts Centre youth mentor Christian 'Kupid' Esson called '1Trak'. The project was kindly funded by Wolverhampton City Council's 14-19 Development and Extended Schools Teams. See the video on our Young Person's Showcase page.

Dovecotes Arts Centre is also helping MA students at Wolverhampton University produce an online radio station called WOO-TON Radio. The initial work and radio shows the students have done can be found HERE.
